We will be pleased to personally inspect and provide an itemised estimate for cleaning, renovating and repairing old or damaged memorials.
The deterioration of a memorial can depend on many factors.
Location. Many Cemeteries and Churchyards are set in areas which are particularly open to the elements, and weathering occurs. Ground. At some stage the grave will settle or ease and this could put strain on joints, or cause the memorial to sink. This will effect kerb sets in particular. Age. Inevitably weathering will erode away at the surface giving dirt a hold and depending on the material, will at some stage need a good cleaning. Design. Carvings and figures allow moisture to gather in crevices and again accelerates erosion and the growth of mosses and fungi. Nature. All manner of things can cause a memorial to deteriorate. Frosts can break joints, weeds will grow from any small hole, and bird dropping will stain the nicest of marbles.
